I’m an advertising creative with 17 years experience. The last 5 as Creative Director.

Given my big break by my mentor Peter Souter straight out of Central Saint Martins.

Then hired by David Abbott.

I’ve won over 130 industry awards for clients including, John Smith’s, The Economist, Mars, Wrigleys, V&A Musueum of Childhood, Smart, BBC, Doritos.

I’ve got into D&AD in nine different categories.

I was the youngest AMV board member at 27.

Judged at D&AD, Creative Circle Gold jury.

I’ve been lucky to have worked with some fantastic creative partners:

Primarily Daryl ‘The Dazzler’ Corps since art college.

Jonathan ‘so big and Welsh they called him John twice’ John.

Mark Norcutt and Laurence Quin.

Tim & Paul – Digital hybrid creative alpha males. (Hate them.)

Richard and Simon ‘The Aussies’.

All have helped make me a better creative and more importantly we had a bloody good laugh.

I’m currently working on interesting projects with my partner Paul Pateman. (He also illustrates beautifully as Pate through YCN.)

Campaigns I’ve been lucky enough to have helped create include: BT ‘Bringing people together’, BBC News Online ‘Updated every minute’, Nuts ‘Women don’t expect any help on a Thursday’, Halfords ‘Start here go anywhere’, Muller ‘Wunderful stuff’, Doritos ‘Alan’, Campo Viejo ‘Live uncorked’, John Smith’s ‘No Nonsense’ Paper Plate, ‘Egg bot’ for Japanese Tsunami relief fund.

Personal high was when Daryl and my Wrigley’s Dogbreath ad increased sales by 70%. Became the most complained ad of all time. Was the leader story on CNN ahead of the gulf war. It was directed faultlessly by Happy’s Guy Shelmerdine and Richard Farmer. Produced by the brilliant Nick Sutherland-Dodd. It was a blast from start to finish.

I’ve set up my own agency Loaf&Egg. Our goal is to Collaborate with people who believe in the power of organising ideas. Implementing these ideas into entertaining work that works.

Most importantly: Having fun along the way.

Getting your first client is tricky.

Cilla Snowball advised us to wait and be picky.

It sets the tone and culture of your agency.

At Loaf & Egg we’re nimble, cheaper and have pedigree.

When I was an art student at Central Saint Martins we had a brilliant tutor named Jeff.

He said that being a creative person requires acting like a sponge.

You must absorb all the stimulus and culture in the world you live in.

At Loaf & Egg we’ve always believed in getting people to like you before you sell to them.

Heart before head if you like.

That’s why we always give clients an emotional organising idea that can grow their brand over time.
