RKCR Y&R Local opens its doors

Greetings from the finest (and possibly
only) high street ad agency in the world. We opened our doors today at
number 22 Chalk Farm Road with the aim of bringing marketing
and communications advice to the shop keepers and stall owners of
Camden Town.

And apart from having to put up with the
deeply un-dulcet tones of the world’s worst busker (who has decided to
set up just across the road from us and who seems to base his vocal
style of the death moans of a run over cat in the last agonising throws
of a pained existence) things have gone well.

First of all we had the lovely ladies
from Camden Locks – the dreadlock and tattoo specialists – and then Ed
popped by from the Camden Arms – the best kept secret in Camden for the
thirsty thrill seeker.  I will be showing my support for our new
Clients by sipping a nice pint and a half at the Camden Arms tonight.
But, as a dedicated head of business, I have  Matt pledged my support
to our little agency’s nascent client roster by getting a full facial
tattoo. (A moko I believe they are called).

We then saw a particularly talented
jewellery designer, and finished the day on a sweet note with a drop-in
form a trader with a stall in the West Yard who specialises in semi
frozen, chocolate covered bananas. What a tasty end to the day.

What’s interesting is that it’s not all doom and gloom on the high street.  It’s tough, like listening to this busker, but things do seem to be picking up.  It does indeed seem that we have nothing to fear but fear itself.

Any way, must dash: I have an appointment
with a talentless busker, a rusty shovel and a bag of quick lime. Until
tomorrow, Sports fans.

Possibly the finest, but definitely not the only ‘high street’ agency:

This is such a great idea. I have blogged about this idea on Brand Ireland and received such a positive response that we are kicking something similar off here in Dublin.
